Hi All, I am the ex owner of C142FTM seen in the photos with the owner of C149TDX, I am also his cousin! I bought my Sport about a year after him, however I didnt know he had one too till we both turned up at a family reunion in them!, shame I didnt keep mine, I wonder if it still exists somewhere!
Great to hear from you Graham and congratulations on the first post on the NSR. Posts like these are the reason we started the register and it is great hearing your story.
We believe C142 FTM to be a Vauxhall Press car but we have no further information to prove this and believe the car was taken off the road some time ago. If we hear any news regarding C142 FTM we will be in touch.
Wow, I didn’t think I’d see the old girl again! I had her towed off my driveway 2 years ago after standing there for 20+ years. I should have ebayed her but was just too lazy/disorganised – so off she went for £50 (no engine). The clock read just over 50,000 miles which was genuine mileage and therefore the gearbox, at least, should be good…
The engine/carburettors etc. have stood on a pallet in my garage – haven’t inspected them for some time – must take a look… I think I might ebay it all in 2016… I’ll give prior warning.
Graham
P.S. I have a nice photo of the engine bay from when the car only had about 500 miles covered.
P.P.S. The garage salesman informed me that this car had been at “the motorshow” – she had ‘delivery’ mileage when purchased by me (only 300) and the drivers seat was a little bit grubby – from all those bums?
Thank you for reaching out. Amazing to finally connect the dots on C561 CYK and we hope that the original parts are reunited with the car.
