Optional Camshaft Upgrade – ENEM “X17”
The cam was made for Irmscher by ENEM of Sweden but sold as Irmscher and ENEM products. Jan Carneboorne was the man involved, who had worked closely with Opel and Irmscher on previous motor sport projects.
The ENEM version of the camshaft has the code “X17” marked on the end of the cam and uses the same timings as the Irmscher branded version. The standard camshaft had paint markings on them.

ENEM “X13” Camshaft
As well as the “X17” version ENEM also produced a “X13” camshaft which is often confused with the optional Sport item. The “X13” is more suited as an upgrade to the 1200 cc engine and offers improvements over the stock cam. With 44 degrees less duration the “X13” offers little performance if any over the stock Sport 1300 cc camshaft.
The specification of this camshaft is different and the details are listed in the below table.
