We believe that the Nova Sport Register is the largest online Nova Sport resource to date with a focus on the Vauxhall Community. Founded in 2013 by a group of Vauxhall enthusiasts the register has come a long way from its beginnings as a concept back in 2011. A little background on the project …
The Team
The Nova Sport Register team are just plain and simple Vauxhall enthusiasts who over the years have followed and loved the Nova for many years. Collectively the team has over 30 years of experience restoring, collecting material, organising and attending events and ultimately enjoying the Vauxhall Nova for what it is.
The Project & Vision
Although in its early stages we plan to develop the site into the ultimate and official Nova Sport Resource. All of the Information we have gathered to date is from subject matter experts, and in some cases from the original car developers back in the early 80’s. Whether you’re a previous, current or a future owner, or simply just interested in the Nova Sport’s history we hope you will join and become an active member of the community.
Our vision is to create an online record for every Sport produced by documenting this within the register. In turn, portraying the number of Nova Sports left on the road and contributing to the future valuation of the cars. Coupled with this, we hope to achieve the largest collection of Nova Sport information, so the site can be used as a future resource. We believe we have only scratched the surface and we hope the information will find its way to us all as the register grows.
We have already surprised ourselves as the project has grown much larger than we ever imagined and this is only the beginning. Seeing all of the cars in categories for the first time was a great moment for us and we hope you, as the community, can continue to add to this.
Community
So why did we invest so much of our personal time and money into creating this platform?
The simple answer is to grow, enhance and share with the Nova Sport community. Collectively we spend a huge amount of our personal time talking to fellow enthusiasts so wanted to give something back to the people of the community we have engaged with over the years…and the ones we are yet to meet.
We view information locked in cupboards and in the back of a dusty draw as “Lost Information” and want it out in the public forum so we can all learn from each other. Before piecing this platform together we spent a lot of time trawling through various websites and resources, which was hugely time consuming. As such, one of our aims is to make your learning experience easier than ours was.
We believe that the information held within this platform is only the starting point and we hope that, over time, we can put more of the missing information puzzle pieces, back together. Everyone can help us achieve this by sharing the pieces of information you may have, however small or irrelevant they may seem.
The highlight of each year for us is VBOA Billing which represents a true community event with individuals traveling from hundreds, up to thousands, of miles to attend. We would love to see and meet as many of you as possible at this and other events to celebrate Nova Sport ownership and the information we possess as a community.
Support
The Nova Sport Register is a non profit making community focused project and the result of hundreds of hours of dedicated research, web development and collaboration. The web development, hosting, domain names, mandatory event liability insurance and everything else you see on this platform is all self funded – This all comes at a cost! We have no advertisements on our platform. We rely 100% on membership subscriptions and donations to support the club.
We have taken the first steps in a long journey towards a complete and detailed history of the Nova Sport. As mentioned above this project needs you and your support if we are to succeed in our vision.
